Multitasking. I'm sure it is what everyone of us is very good at and always do. Living at such a high pressure place, most of us would not let ourselves don't have anything to do. We have to keep ourselves busy to let others know we have worked and contributed to the society. More than that, we always let ourselves get into a situation that doing several things at that same time.
Multitasking is not new to us but something that have to learn and be trained. It helps us to do things in an efficient way unless we stay focus enough in what we are doing. I listen to the radio while I read. I talk to my friends on phone while I check e-mail. There are lots of things I can do at the same time. But one thing I don't do is When I am doing assignments, I would not log into FACEBOOK or chat with others via MSN. It is because I know that I can't focus on my work while my mind is connecting with my friends.
Assets. people in the old economy treat money, apartment or gold as their assets. Only something that can see or touch is our wealth. However, as the internet and digital technology have a great impact on us, the definition of wealth changes. Money is not the only thing we concern, we also have a desire of getting popular in the society or even the world. It is not hard to find there are lots of video clips or articles posted by different users in blogs or facebook. The spreadig speed of any information or resources cannot be imagined. With the power of the internet, attention can be drawn for any point of the place. More attentions come with greater popularity. With the power of the technology, our wealth can be increased also, if popularity really means a lot to us.
I think celebrities like actors would treat popularity far more serious than others. They want to have great influence to the society or in their own communities. They try very hard to build up their images via countless methods. With greater popularity, it comes more people to know you and have more job opportunities. They are seeking attention of the world to them. However, digital technology can help build a positive image but also can destroy one's image and affecting the wealth. Therefore, it's appropriate that the economy have to change from the traditional model to the attention model. We have to maximize our wealth in a suitable and careful way. Otherwise, we may accidentally get the adverse result!

Games, Learning and Literacy
I'm not the kind of person that get into video games very much. Actually, I seldom play digital games. When I was small, it's not common to have a video game as it was so expensive. Now, if students don't have one in their home, they will be treated as abnormal! Although I'm not good at playing these games, still I remembered I was also affected by one or two.
The most remarkable one in my memory on THE SIMS!.
I think the game had a great success in the industry a few years ago. By having control in the virtual world, the game fulfill players' desire of making every decisions on our own as sometimes in the reality, we don't even have a chance to make choice. The production company understood the thoughts of us and thus create this wonderful PC game. I like playing this game as I can control the people whatever I want. Of course in the past I couldn't think of anything of you asked me whether I can learn something in the game. I would just tell you it was so funny! However, the lecture on last Tuesday inspired me to think about it.
When doing the in-class assignment of which we was told to designed our own game, I realized all games are produced for a purpose. Therefore I think The Sims has got its purpose for the players. Players have to arrange things for the characters to do. Even tiny little thing like washing dishes and feeding dogs, they all have to be arranged by the players. It makes me think we need to have plan for our life in advance. If we always make ad hoc decision, we can't really make good use of our life. Moreover, we must have a goal for our life, otherwise we may not know what to do and even lose passion for doing anything. You may think that I think too much from a PC game, but it's true that I get such reflection from the game! Moreover, although in my view that I didn't acquire much about English when playing the game, when I tried to fond out more information about the game, I went online to search for more. Browsing the those related sites gave me more chances to read English! So i think ultimately I was equipped with better language skills by the Sims!

Working together on the web
Collaborative writing is not a good experience for me personally. Usually when doing a group writing project, collaborative writing is needed. However, it's so hard to keep the consistency of writing style as group members and i have got totally different habit. Our language used, tone and skills varies a lot. I'v got an painful experience that that when all the writing works of my group members and I are gathered, we have to sit together to go through the whole piece of work together. Our goal is to make the writing to have similar style without big contrast. Frankly, it's quite time- consuming! Although the writing can include lots of different information and great ideas from others, the process is too long.
Although collaborative writing has its own minor disadvantage, still it is compulsory in the reality. By using tool specifically designed, we can edit document in real time others can edit it again in a minute. Therefore, when I first came up with Google Docs, I was excited! Time for sending email can be saved and I am no longer worry about whether I have mixed up the final version of the papers or not!!
So a platform for people to write and express their own thoughts is important. WIKIPEDIA actually is very successful in this way. It lets people to contribute their ideas on the web and let anyone to edit it again. Although the reliability of the information is a question, the site can provide answer to the browers with a lot of questions. And this site become a hot choice when people have got any questions.
Therefore, I think collaborative writing is very powerful. And the digital technology make it more convenient. The development of the collaborative writing tool may change my attitude towards group work in the future!

MORE THAN WORDS
When I was just a little kid, I had a diary. I wrote down what happened and how I felt on a particular day. Sometime I kept secrets in the diary and didn't want anyone to know about it. As a silly innocent child, I was so worry about my mum would find out the diary and read my words! At that time, I couldn't think of drawing pictures to express my feelings instead of writing exactly what happened. What I want to say is people in this generation not only use text to convey massages, but also use various kinds of media to do so. I used to keep a diray to record my daily life whan I was small. However, now I start up a blog on the internet to share my life to my dear friends. I can also share videos, songs and pictures with them. Sometimes text can not help me to depict my life and feelings at all, then I would use pictures to express my happiness or outrage. Pictures, are powerful.
Inspired bt the lecture, I remembered I have played a meaningful card game before. Before I introduce this to you, let me ask you a question.

Is it difficult for you?You may think of lots of different stuff when you look at these pictures, or you may get nothing from them. Actually these are the photos extracted from a tool called "SOULARIUM"

I think SOULARIUM is a very intriguing tool that opan up a conversation. We all have different minds and experience. Therefore we can have different explaination to different photos. I may feel sad about a photo of a hand holding a little bird, but the other may feel happy for it! A photo can have various interpretations. There is no modal answer.The question is not what you look at, but what you see. These photos help people who don't know how to express themselves and they can guide them to think more. SOILARIUM can lead us to get to know more about others and even ourselves. It's interesting that we may have two opposite interpretation to the same photo at different point of our lives.
When I first look at these photos, I feel excited that I really can associate with things that I never think about.

My digital Life~*
How my life is affected by digitial technologies?
When this question come across in my mind, a few words appear.
As i just simply rewind the time of yesterday to think about what things I have done is related to digitial technologies, I find I cannot escape from the digitial world.
One other thing I would like to mention, language usage on the internet is really interesring. I keep wondering who invent this kind of intriguing language. Actually there is no answer to this question as it just happens. I think the power of internet or the digitial technologies is out of my imagination. By using the technologies appropriately, great imapct can be brought to the world. However, not everyone has a good mind. Some would do bad things via it. So my reflection is......we have to using it well!

"I can't live without digitial technologies!"Why I say so?
As i just simply rewind the time of yesterday to think about what things I have done is related to digitial technologies, I find I cannot escape from the digitial world.
- I check my email accounts almost everyday. I even check them three or four times a day.
- I browse facebook and use it to communicate with my friends all the time. Sometime I use MSN to chat with them. However, in these few years I recognise waiting for my friends' response before the computer screen is a kind of wasting time. I can't focus on my work. So now I try not to use frequently.
- I text with my friends by my mobile.
- I enjoy browsing different applications in my sister's Ipad. I like to play the game "Cut the rope"!
- YouTube seems to be one of my favourite infomation channels. I can access the hottest issue in town and I can find videos and songs that I want.
- Internet help me a lot in my daily life, such as I do e-banking, shopping, booking facilities of university, checking information.......It really helps me shorten the time needed for all this stuff.
- Of course visitng blogs of my dear friends is one of the highlights of a day. =)
- Digital camera is a must-bring thing when I hang out with my friends and family!
